About

The Mount Sinai School of Medicine (MSSM) and MBL Communications, Inc. jointly sponsor continuing medical education (CME) activities that have been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The MSSM is accredited by the ACCME to provide CME for physicians. The MSSM and MBL are committed to developing scientific, peer-reviewed CME activities that are fair and balanced. In their partnership, the MSSM is the accredited provider and MBL is the educational partner. In March 2007, MSSM received 'Accreditation with Commendation' from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for achieving Exemplary Compliance.

THE MOUNT SINAI SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The MSSM history encompasses over a century of patient care, research, and education. In regard to education, MSSM has been serving all points on the medical education continuum for decades -- the Mount Sinai Hospital initiated post-graduate medical education in 1910 and established the Page and William Black Post-Graduate School of Continuing Medical Education in 1967. Since its first accreditation, the offerings of the CME Program have grown in number and in scope. The MSSM CME Unit is now able to offer a variety of live activities, enduring materials, Internet CME, Journal CME, and regularly scheduled conferences. The MSSM has a record of providing activities that meet standards of independence, balance, objectivity, and scientific rigor. The CME Director and the CME Review Committee review each CME activity to ensure that it adheres to the mission of the MSSM, and that it meets these same standards.

MBL COMMUNICATIONS, INC.

MBL Communications, Inc., is the independent publisher of the monthly journals Primary Psychiatry and CNS Spectrums in conjunction with its accredited partner, the MSSM. MBL also publishes Psychiatry Weekly, the first clinical wallboard service in the nation covering the psychiatric field. For over 15 years, MBL has had a global commitment to advancing CNS science, clinical practice, and evidence-based medicine. MBL is an expert in the field with over a decade-long track record and experience level. MBL offers a broad range of CME activities, from print materials including Roundtable and Academic Supplements and Hospital-Based Scientific Wallboard Posters to innovative technology media, such as HyperCDs, Epocrates MobileCME, and PsychCasts.

In conjunction with MSSM, MBL develops and manages the annual live event, the Alzheimer's Disease Summit, which gathers national experts to discuss updates in Alzheimer's disease research in a way that translates new knowledge into actionable practice for an audience of neurologists, geriatricians, and geriatric psychiatrists.

CNS Spectrums
The International Journal of Neuropsychiatric Medicine - is a monthly, peer reviewed, Index Medicus/MEDLINE cited journal designed to bridge the clinical information needs of 49,000 US-based psychiatrists and neurologists. CNS Spectrums reaches more physicians than any other peer-reviewed neuropsychiatric journal in the world and can be found under the citation "CNS Spectr." CNS Spectrums' editorial mission is to address relevant neuropsychiatric topics, including the prevalence of comorbid diseases among patients, and original research and reports that emphasize the profound diagnostic and physiologic connections made within the neurologic and psychiatric fields.

Primary Psychiatry
The Largest Peer-Reviewed Psychiatric Journal in the Nation - has a monthly circulation of more than 65,000 primary care physicians and psychiatrists. Still evidence-based and clinically driven in its 15th year of publication, Primary Psychiatry's mission is to educate physicians about matters of applied psychiatry. In 1994, Primary Psychiatry became the first psychiatric journal specifically created and designed to bridge the gap between psychiatry and primary care medicine. Since then, the journal's focus has been to pointedly address interface issues between the two clinical specialties and advise them on how best to diagnose, treat, and manage the growing base of patients with comorbid CNS illness.

Psychiatry Weekly
is the first weekly psychiatric news, information, and education service in the country for clinicians providing mental health services. The service includes a weekly poster distributed to hospitals nationwide, a weekly e-newsletter, and a website that is consistently updated with features, CME content, and breaking news. Psychiatry Weekly is a joint venture between MBL Communications, Inc. and Physician's Weekly, LLC, the leading medical news service for acute care hospitals for over 22 years.
